中国化学会青年化学奖在我国化学界具有较大的影响，吸引了众多的优秀青年化学工作者的积极参与。大多历届获奖者已成长为本领域具有重要影响的学术带头人。截止2015年已有288人获得本奖，其中有9位当选中科院院士。中国化学会青年化学奖为推动我国化学事业做出了积极的贡献。
